The Originators – Rooftop Ridicule – Agent 86 – Infernal Raket – at The Bunkhouse – Las Vegas, NV

August 21, 2009

When you first walk into The Bunkhouse, you might expect a nice Country bar, with oversized chairs, a nice bar, and Deer Heads on the wall with pictures of the Boys from "Bonanza", but when the first band came on it was a far cry from a country bar.

The first band was a local Las Vegas band called "Infernal Raket". Coming on stage with aprons on and only wearing underwear beneath them, They blasted through their 30 minute Punk rock set with speed, and screeching vocals, unlike their name-sake they were actually pretty good to watch. Nothing like a good Punk Rock Band to warm up the audience for what was to proceed them. I believe the motto of this band is "SEX AND DRUGS AND PUNK ROCK" which was evident by the names of their songs and the banter in between their songs.

In Between  sets there were 2 D.J.'s.  D.J. STAR, AND D.J. CHAOS.  They were spinning some very cool tunes from Black Sabbath to Hendrix, and one of my favorite bands The Runaways. Nothing like great music in between bands. For me it keeps me in the Rockin frame of mind. They did a great job.

Next up another local favorite "ROOFTOP RIDICULE"  These guys know how to play music! What amazed me the most about these guys was they all played every instrument. From drummer going to guitar, to bass etc. These Boys play everything. They just rotated instruments. Just when you think "Punk Rock and Roll" has hit it's height with jamming guitars, to thumping bass, to smashing drums and bad ass vocals,  they break out a Mandolin. Such a great sounding instrument something you wouldn't expect to hear from a punk band. But they made it work!!!  Incredible sound. This band is very inventive. They really know how to bust out a kick Ass set. I Highly recommend them.

3rd up on the bill was one of my favorite bands as of late. "THE ORIGINATORS" What can I say about this band? They are full of energy, jumping all over the place while belting out tunes like "Martini" "Crazy Pill" "Problem"  and "Corporate" While I did miss the Keyboards they still Rocked The Bunk House. With audience members singing along with the band on stage. If you are in the Los Angeles area between Sept. 4th and the 6th  I suggest you go see them.  You won't be disappointed. I have seen them a couple of times now, always expect the unexpected. Incredible musicians in this band.

Last up which seemed right for this night  was another local band called "AGENT 86" An interesting note about this band is the bass player from Infernal Raket plays bass for these guys as well. Night and day from band to the other. These guys are a 3 piece band that just played some really good rock and roll. Vladi The drummer from The Originators played drums with these guys as well as playing with Roof Top Ridicule. This guy can really play!! If your in the mood for some good Rock and Roll go see Agent 86.
