Shred Savage – Danger Strangers – At Burger Records – Fullerton, CA

January 16, 2010

Dear Diary, Tonight I went to a punk show at Burger Records in Fullerton, CA. It was the first time I had ever been to Burger Records. They just opened the store a few months ago and it looks really swanky. I really like the 70s décor, it reminds me of Gram Gram’s living room except it didn’t smell like mothballs. I got to thee show a little late and was afraid I had missed the first band “Danger Strangers”, but being a punk show, it was no surprise that the show started late which is good for us late arrivers.

I walked into the store and looked around for a few minutes before the show started. There have some cool records there, as well as some good old American staples like “Dolly Parton” and “Everly Brothers”. Danger Strangers began playing their set and boy were they cool! Very minimalist when it comes to lyrics, but their musical talent sure made up for that!

After Danger Strangers I decided to go outside with some friends whom I had met up with and have a smoke. We had a good chat about some records and talked about some plans for this summer…yeah…we like to think ahead.

We went back inside as Shred Savage started to play, im really glad these guys started playing shows again, and I hear they are going to tour this summer! Anyhow, this bad had to be one of the fastest and most technical bands currently playing. When I say fast I don’t mean “thrash” fast, I mean “holy fuck, how are they playing that fast and still sound so fucking good” fast. The band finished playing and everyone filed outside for some fresh air (smoke).

All in all it was a cool little in store show, and from what I understand, Burger Records hosts these cool little shindigs on a regular basis.
