G.G. Elvis – Punk Rock Bingo – Vegascendents – South Padre Island – at Texas Station Casino – Las Vegas, NV

October 2, 2009

G.G. ElvisThe night started off with 3 rounds of Punk Rock Bingo, being called by Dirk Vermin of "The Vermin" and Jenn-O-Cide. These 2 were classic, funny as all hell, they made an awesome team. After the first few bingo games "Vegascendents hit the stage. They are a Descendents cover band from right here in the middle of the desert a place I call home Las Vegas.

They rock !! I've seen them a few times and these guys are extremely talented. As I have mentioned before Gilbert is just an animal on his drum kit. The whole band is tight. They may have had one 2 many before starting their set. But they still ROCKED TEXAS STATION.

So Before G.G. Elvis was to play, was another round of Punk Rock Bingo. While Dirk And Jenn were calling numbers and making everybody laugh at their antics and jokes, I was sitting on the stage about 4 feet from them, enjoying the way they called bingo "Classic" So while sitting there this guy comes running by me and just flies into the plexi glass cylinder that holds all the bingo balls. He totally crushed the plexi-glass with his head!! Funny as Hell. Balls everywhere, Jenn held up a piece of the plexi glass where this guy’s blood was running from. They eventually arrested the guy, from what I saw he was totally drunk. They got a maintenance guy to duct tape the machine part that holds the balls, and they went on to play a couple more games of bingo. I wish I had known what this moron was going to do and I would have photographed it, it was split second fast.

So Now for the Grand Finale - G.G. ELVIS AND THE TCB BAND
GG Elvis Punk rock band
Not knowing what to expect, I was thinking of a G.G. Allin type of show, but this was not to be. These guys were totally Punk Rock Elvis Presely!!!!  They Kicked Ass!! From "VIVA LAS VEGAS" to Suspicious Minds, Jailhouse Rock, Hound-Dog and a slew of Elvis songs, their set smoked from beginning to end.

Now at the end of the set I got what I was thinking I was going to get. The lead Elvis, was wearing a Jump suit, and while singing he started to unzip it, I thought uh oh here we go, so he gets it unzipped and all he had on was a G-STRING !

They finished the song rolling around on the stage, striking Elvis poses, and giving the audience a good glimpse of G.G. ELVIS. So he stands up wraps himself in a robe, and walks off the stage while the band is jamming an instrumental, They finish with that and in Classic Elvis style they say, "ELVIS HAS LEFT THE BUILDING" "But if you still want to party  Elvis's room number is 501". If you like Punk rock and Elvis Presley check these guys out they are extremely good. I was even fortunate enough to see the real Elvis live at The Anaheim Convention Center, in Calif. on his last tour before he passed away... so I got the best of both worlds.
