Christian Death - Fangs on Fur - Catholic Spit - Death on the Radio - The Goons - Nightmare Enterprises - and Untoward Children - at Los Globos - Los Angeles, CA - October 13, 2013Another fine Sunday night show brought to you by the people at GITBAM. Tonight is an 80's goth special. First band up was UNTOWARD CHILDREN. A four piece, very 80's Goth sounding band. Female vocalist Veronika also doubled on keyboard and bass guitar and did a really good job.

A very interesting sometimes dark/sometimes gloomy/sometimes Siouxsie (Creatures Siouxsie)/but always very interesting. Great musicianship from everybody in the band. Check them out, their worth it.

Next up was NIGHTMARE ENTERPRISES. These guys looked really young and sounded like a young JFA meets Catholic Discipline. They played a little harder Punk but with keyboards. The singer sang and played keyboards at the same time and fuckin' RIPPED!!  A very original young Punk band with a unique sound and stage performance. These guys are definitely worth checking out.

Next was the GOONS. A 4 piece hardcore band doing early-mid 80's style Punk. These guys didn't really fit in with the other bands but they did add a nice blend of Punk rock. Fast and furious at times and then pretty mellow. Not your typical hardcore act. The bands are getting better and better as the night goes on.

DEATH ON THE RADIO were on next with the great Bloody Mary Powers on vocals and Danny Dorman from Circle One on guitar. These guys get better and better every time I see them. They opened their set with the classic "Say When" by Lena Lovich and did it justice. Marys vocals were very strong and powerful as usual along with great guitar work from Danny Dorman. The rhythm section was right on the beat and also played very well. Mary really puts on a great performance as she uses her body and voice as her art and keeps the audience interested at all times.

CATHOLIC SPIT was next. I really wanted to check out this band as I heard a lot of good things about them. An interesting looking 6 piece band with a female vocalist and keyboardist. They started out with a long instrumental then the singer came out and joined them. Again...a really good young band that's has a unique sound and stage performance (much like that of a modern day Catholic Discipline/Monitor meets Bikini Kill). At times the singer reminded me of the very excellent and beautiful Alice Bag, the way she was ranting and raving on stage but yet had control over the audience. Again...another band of high quality and musicianship.

FANGS ON FUR came on next. Its been awhile since I've seen them but I remember that they were really good. Great early 80's goth sounding with a slight edge to it. Another female vocalist that poured her heart out. Looked like they had a new drummer and bass player since the last time I saw them. This line-up played well together and pulled off a really good set. These guys have been around awhile and know how to play.

CHRISTIAN DEATH finally hit the stage last. They started their set with just keyboards and vocals then the trio hit the stage. They played as they had "Christian Death" projected behind them. Now, a lot of people had told me that they shouldn't call themselves Christian Death because their was no Rozz and no Rikk Agnew. But this was the 2013 version of Christian Death which featured Valor on vocals and keyboards.

They had a female bass player and a drummer who also programed samples from his computer. This line up was nothing like the Rozz/Rikk Agnew line up but were still pretty good for what they did. Didn't see any of the old Goth crowd there, just a lot of younger kids and people who were interested in hearing and seeing what this Christian Death sounded like.
