Youth of Today Preview: at the Glasshouse – Pomona, CA on June 5 and 6, 2011

March 1, 2011

Youth Of Today show previewOne of the most talked about reunions in recent hardcore history is set to take place this summer at the Glasshouse in Pomona. Synonymous with the youth crew movement and the straight edge revival of the late 80’s, Youth of Today were among the east coast’s most fierce and reputable bandsto rise up during the 2nd wave of hardcore. Led by front man Ray Cappo and guitarist John Porcelly, Youth’s unique break-neck speed drumming, buzz saw guitar riffs and Ray’s unmistakable shrieks of rage allowed for them to set the standards of hardcore to a higher benchmark.

Their debut E.P. Can’t Close My Eyes released on 7Seconds Positive Force records drew much acclaim around regional hardcore scenes and would help them land a deal with premier record company Revelation Records. Their following two full length LP‘s; Break Down The Walls and We’re Not In This Alone are still regarded as landmark albums in hardcore and straight edge scenes globally some 25 years after their release. Their influence would go on to be heard in countless bands, namely Sick of It All, Warzone, Redemption 87 and The Nerve Agents.

Their reunion will see them joined by two of the most talked about 90’s hardcore outfits. Both Mouthpiece and Outspoken are perfect opening bands to support the return of one of the 1980’s most real and in your face acts. Youth of Today at the Glasshouse will be a show for the ages, and their only show on this coast. Get Prepared for more stage diving and circle pit action than you’re used to seeing at most concerts, this is going to be a show for the ages!
