The Gaslight Anthem Preview – at The Wiltern Theater in Los Angeles, CA – July 21, 2010

On July 21st The Gaslight Anthem will be making a grand appearance in Los Angeles at The Wiltern for their 6th show in a nation-wide tour with Tim Barry in support of  Barry's recent album, “28th & Stonewall", released by Suburban Home Records and The Gaslight Anthem's new album, "American Slang" released by Side One Dummy. This will be an epic tour for both acts.

While Tim Barry was initially known for his work with the melodic hardcore band Avail, his solo music, which takes a radically different approach, is now becoming even more well known. Tim Barry has been dubbed by Chuck Ragan as quite possibly the best Folk singer/songwriter around. He has earned respect in both the punk community and folk/country scene alike. His lyrics convey his point of view on getting out and living life. Barry is known for hopping freight trains as a means of transportation and for his relentless touring. In Tim's performances he often speaks  of family and friends and the simple pleasures that make life worth living.  One of many things that makes Tim so amazing is that you may see him playing at a backyard party one night and playing for a crowd of thousands the next. It's exciting that he is touring with a mainstream band and will be playing for packed theaters; his humble attitude and awesome music will compliment this tour perfectly.

New Jersey natives, The Gaslight Anthem, are the epitome of American Rock 'N' Roll. Since their arrival on the music scene in 2007 they have released three full length albums, and headlined several nationwide tours. There are not many bands out there that deliver a live performance which lives up to their recorded material, but The Gaslight Anthem has made a name for themselves with performances that are delivered with a precision and clarity that one would normally only associate with studio performances. "American Slang" is hot on the shelves, so pick up a copy and if you really want to experience what this band is all about, don't miss their show at The Wiltern on July 21st.
