The Casualties Preview – at Karma in Victorville, CA on June 28, 2010

The Casualties were formed in 1990 in New York City, New York and have since then brought us fiery yet catchy music. Starting out as teenagers having fun, playing in a band, singing about booze, politics, and being on the streets, the Casualties have worked hard to become successful. They’ve accomplished building their fan base by touring the U.S., Europe, Japan, and Mexico numerous times. They’ll be giving the U.S. another visit as they headline a show June 28, at Karma in Victorville with supporting acts K.I.L., Destruct, The Insurgence, and Just Buzzed.

The Casualties went through a number of member changes, with Jorge doing vocals since day one. After ten years of chaos, they finally maintained a secure and stable line up with Meggers on drums, Rick on bass, Jake on guitar, and Jorge still doing vocals. With 20 years behind them and still going, they’ve released eight studio albums, three E.P.’s, three live albums, one compilation disc, and a DVD of them touring Mexico and Japan. Each release has become a hit especially with the younger generations, as they can relate to similar situations sung in their lyrics. The Casualties started out on Punk Core Records, and then went to Side One Dummy, back to Punk Core, and then to Side One Dummy again, where they’ve remained faithful to them since 2004. Their latest release, “We Are All We Have” is said to be their most diverse album because of the various influences displayed in their music, but at the same time sticking to their Casualties roots.  This goes to show to just how much they’ve progressed musically.

It’s safe to say that The Casualties have become a legend in street Punk. Almost every Casualties show ends up being sold out no matter the location and fans from all over make an effort to be present. Don’t miss out on the fun at their appearance in Victorville and if you do, then you still have plenty of opportunities to see them. Just keep in mind that you can catch them playing each and every date of this years Warped Tour which starts June 25, so be sure not to miss it.
