The 2010 VANS Warped Tour Preview

Every year since 1995, Vans Warped Tour has conquered Summer after Summer with a distinct delivery of music, counterculture, and athletic demonstrations which have gone to ultimately unify the new generation of various underground scenes. The 2010 Vans Warped Tour first made the announcement back in December 2009 that the tour dates for the following Summer's tour were officially ready and available for viewing, and since then, the amount of bands set to play has augmented, and the hype concerning the event has risen to tremendous proportions. What began as a simple concept by founder Kevin Lyman has now developed into an annual ritual of live performances, nonstop circle pits, day-long adventures, and a flourished Summer that mass groups continue to anticipate and support; this same appreciation has ultimately made the Vans Warped Tour the longest standing concert tour in the United States.

The 2010 Vans Warped Tour will commence its Summer-long festival at the Home Depot Center on June 25, 2010 in Carson, CA. Following the plan of its previous tours, the 16th annual music festival will travel through and around the country, making sure to cover the nation from coast to coast and even featuring 3 stops in Canada. The music festival will meet its end on Sunday, August 15 in Hillsboro, Oregon, making the length of the concert tour shorter than the previous year's run.

This year's presentations will feature many renowned Punk Rock bands who undoubtedly are responsible for garnering the music festival's Punk audience and community. Punk bands featured in this year's tour include: Adolescents, Agent Orange, Angry Samoans, Anti-Flag, Assorted Jelly Beans, Bouncing Souls, Cobra Skulls, The Dickies, Dropkick Murphys, Face to Face, Far From Finished, Flatfoot 56, GBH, Left Alone, Manic Hispanic, Pennywise, Riverboat Gamblers, Streetlight Manifesto, Swingin' Utters, The Casualties, The Flatliners, and Voodoo Glow Skulls.

Among other changes to the tour, this year's stage names also differ and have been recommended on the Vans Warped Tour website to remember. The names of the several stages this year are: the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands Stage, Kia Kevin Says Stage, SkullCandy Stage, AP/Advent Stage, Glamour Kills Stage, Altec Lansing Stage, and the Teggart Stage. The Teggart Stage is the chosen name of the main stage, which in previous years has simply been called "The Vans Main Stage". The change in the main stage's name has been done so in commemoration of Stewart Teggart, who was a close friend of those who run Vans Warped Tour.

The 16th annual Vans Warped Tour will finally arrive in less than a month, and if you're a wise member of our underground community, you'll note that this isn't a tour to be ignored. There is a valid reason why Warped Tour has consistently been successful in maintaining massive attention and a lengthy run that has withstood the test of time. Vans Warped Tour provides a grand musical experience that brings together mass bodies of people who indulge in different genres, different cultures, and different ideas. Unity through Punk Rock is an experience the Punk community is familiar with, but unity through MUSIC in all its several forms and distinctions is an experience that not everyone in the Punk community has encountered.
