Teenage Bottlerocket Preview – at The Troubadour – Hollywood, CA – July 17, 2010

June 18, 2010

The BriggsMost people would believe that pop-punk is dead, but we can only assume they haven’t heard Teenage Bottlerocket.  TBR, from Laramie, Wyoming, will be touring the west-coast, and making a stop on July 17 at the Troubadour in Hollywood with fellow Fat Wreck Chords band Banner Pilot, Vultures United, and Gentlemen Prefer Blood. Fat Wreck fans would be more than happy to see both Banner Pilot and Teenage Bottlerocket in the same night.

The band was formed in 2001 by twin brothers Ray and Brandon Carlisle, Miguel Chen (Miggy), and former Lillingtons frontman Kody Templeman.  TBR released their A-Bomb EP on a small label in Laramie called One Legged Pup and shortly after their first album, Anther Way, was released on the same label.  Their next two albums, Total and Warning Device were both released through Red Scare. In 2009, Teenage Bottlerocket signed to Fat Wreck Chords and released their 4th and latest album, They Came From The Shadows.  They’ve made a few music videos for songs including “In the Basement”, “Skate Or Die”, and the most recent “Bigger Than Kiss”.
The Briggs live
TBR sounds very similar to The Lillingtons, bringing the melodic pop-punk music to our ears. They sing about relationships, life, skateboarding, and everyday routines that we can all relate to and the music is fun and energetic and completely enthusiastic. TBR made it down last year to play a few So-Cal dates and recently played at Punk Rock Bowling for the first time.  If you missed them then, then now is the time to start planning to see Teenage Bottlerocket July 17 at The Troubadour. Don’t miss it!
