November 2, 2011

MorrisseyNovember may have spawned a monster, though so far it’s managed to be a great month for concerts in the immediate Los Angeles area, especially for those into alternative rock. If you thought both The Pixies and The Cures’ upcoming shows were the only remaining concerts left trekking out to in the month of the turkey, then you’re sadly mistaken.  .

The one and only Morrissey along with support from Kristeen Young are set to leave their mark on LA and Pomona before the months end at shows taking place at the Shrine and Fox Theatre’s *** and now just announced at The Music Box in Los Angeles on Wednesday November 23rd.

Morrissey is amongst the most influential British musical icons of all time, surpassing the popularity of most native Angeleno celebrities. His emotional performances have left the deepest impressions on Los Angeles since 1983 (dating back to his days fronting The Smiths) and are a testament to the mans ever growing popularity in the city of angels. With a back catalog of 13 albums to his credit, Morrissey puts on a show that satisfies fans from every era of his career. A man of consistent controversy whether it be onstage or off, his shows are always memorable events that bring out music fans from every rock scene and clique. This is Morrisseys first time back to play in LA since The Swords tour of Fall 2009 which had shows in Pomona, LA and Ventura.

Opening both shows is another solo artist Morrissey fans have become familiar with over the last few years. Kristeen Young has had the pleasure of warming up Moz hungry crowds in LA for the better part of the last decade leaving her mark on the scene. Her unique style of alternative rock paired with her fabulous wardrobe (bubble dress) has made her a stand out act with an ever growing fan base, especially in LA. Fans will want to arrive early to catch Kristeen as she belts through singles off both The Orphans and Music for Strippers, Hookers, and the Odd On-Looker’s albums.

With Morrissey and Kristeen Young playing two shows late in November it’s looking like there isn’t a better way to end the month concert-wise.
