Gigantour Show Preview: Featuring Megadeath – Motorhead – Volbeat – Lacuna Coil – at Gibson Amphitheatre – Universal City, CA – February 24, 2012

It’s been a few short years, but the heaviest tour on the planet is making its grand return this month with headlining slots by none other than Megadeth and living legends; Motorhead. The behemoth of a tour known as Gigantour 2012 will also feature opening slots by international acts such as Lacuna Coil and Volbeat with only one local show slated to take place at the Gibson Amphitheatre located at City walk.

Gigantour began eight years ago as a tour where Dave Mustaine of Megadeth could bill various positive heavy metal bands together for a high energy concert that fans would soon not forget. Now in the tours seventh installment, it’s looking bigger and better than ever as this will be Megadeth’s first US tour in support of their new very appropriately titled album “Thirteen”.
The album which dropped only 2 months ago has been met with rave reviews from a number of critics and is regarded as the bands most raw and diverse sounding album in years. Fans should expect to hear new tunes such as “Sudden Death”, “Public Enemy No. 1” and “New World Order” alongside classic Megadeth tracks spanning the bands 13 album catalog.
With main support from Lemmy and co. fans will arrive early in time for the live chaos that is a Motorhead set. Never ones to disappoint, the rock and roll animals that embody the spirit of punk rock and heavy metal will perform classic cuts as well as tracks off their 2010 release “The World Is Yours”.
　
Make sure to stretch a plenty before entering the venue for you are sure to wake up the next morning with a gnarly bangover after witnessing Lacuna Coil, Volbeat, Motorhead and Megadeth on the first must see package tour of the year.
