Adam Ant Show Preview: at The Mayan Theatre – Los Angeles, CA – September 13, 2012

The king of the 80’s New Romantic scene is returning with a vengeance and set to expose a whole new generation to “Antmusic”, yes, you read that that correctly; the one and only Adam Ant is coming back! It’s been more than a few years, but the wait will end when Adam plays North America, and more specifically the Mayan Theatre in Los Angeles in September.

Having began his music career in England at the dawning of the punk rock movement in 1976, Adam achieved record success throughout the world as front man of Adam and The Ants and later as a solo artist. With a unique sound and even more distinct look of parts Victorian, Pirate and Indian, Adams life and career have been extremely colorful.

His first taste of success came with The Ants 2nd album “Kings of the wild frontier” which spawned the very favorable singles “Dog Eat Dog”, “Antmusic” and a title track which were all top 10 hits in the U.K. alone. The forthcoming Ants album “Prince Charming” would be their last as a band, but would catapult Adam back into the charts with huge singles like “Stand and Deliver” a title track and “Antrap”.

With the disbanding of The Ants, Adam would embark on a solo career that would stretch into modern day. His early solo singles made a huge impact on the billboard charts around the globe and have made his back catalog a staple of the post-punk and new romantic scene. One should expect an out of the ordinary live show full with stage production unlike any other band out on the road currently. Adam has made his concerts over the years resemble that of a live play set to exciting music backed by two drummers and an ensemble of musicians creating a full sound. Expect every to hear every song that he’s made famous over the years with perhaps some new tracks played alongside. This is something we are very much looking forward to seeing, it’s been a long time coming!
