Standard and Poor – Let’s Take Care of Our Own
October 6, 2012
Standard and Poor are the newest band to come spitting out of Riverside, California, though they sound more like a UK82/ SoCal mashup.
"Let's Take Care of Our Own" is a limited press 7", hand numbered from 1 to 500, and pressed on red vinyl, which will definitely appeal to collectors. But aside from the pretty package, the record is worth listening to, with the title track being full of sneering social commentary, and the B side containing "Let's Go", a fun tribute to The Ramones, and "Love Knot", an anti-love song that's The Bags meets The Buzzcocks.
Overall, the album is spirited, and catchy, and will probably spend a reasonable amount of time on your turntable.
