Rough Kids – Self titled 7 inch

February 16, 2010

Rough Kids self titled 7 inch record reviewL.A.'s Rough Kids play fast paced Punk rock which simultaneously brings to mind The Kids, The Undertones, Slaughter and the Dogs, and the Weirdos. This music is high charged rock n roll that will give you a good kick in the ass. "Why So Serious?" starts the record and then the band comes "back with a bang" with the rumbling drums in "Going Blank." However the real stand out track is the B-Side which is called "Can't Stand You" and has some catchy singalongs and hard hitting guitar riffs. While Rough Kids seem to be laying in relative obscurity right now, it would be no surprise to see them get some major attention once this record gets some more circulation. Fans of more modern day bands like The Vicious, Regulations, and Broken Patterns may enjoy this one as much as fans of late 70's Punk from all around the globe.
