Off! – First EP

September 2, 2010

Off! - First E.P. reviewEverything is alright in the world when Keith Morris is fronting a new Hardcore band. It certainly doesn’t hurt that the members of the band backing him up are guys who have done time in Redd Kross and the Hot Snakes. These four songs are just about as stripped down as you can get, with the longest track clocking in at just over a minute long.

For anyone who misses the raw energy and balls to the wall aggression of early L.A. Hardcore this record is going to do the trick. There are absolutely no frills or extra baggage here, just snippets of intense anger and adrenaline. "Black Thoughts" stands out as the strongest track with its menacing guitar riff on the chorus. "Upside Down" is almost equally rocking and really captures Punk Rock perfection. This record is some of the best new material from a new Hardcore band to come out in a while now. Waste no time wondering about this one. You need it.
