MC Lars – Greatest Hits

May 15, 2012

MC Lars - Greatest HitsMc Lars newest album entitled "Greatest hits" (out May 28th) is a fascinating and well blended compilation of MC lars first six studio released albums. "Greatest Hits" incorporates 16 tracks that span the spectrum of creativity, art and numerous musical influences.

MC Lars did not disappoint in compiling tracks that encompass everything his fan base has grown to love since his inception in 1999. Starting with "Download this song" a blunt and unapologetic take on where the music industry was and the direction it has gone in since, from overcharging fans for years for songs and albums to the rampant file sharing we see in todays" igeneration". "Greatest Hits" is drenched in MC Lars familiar open, in your face, sarcastic and painfully truthful song writing. "Hipster Girl", "Generic Crunk Rap" "Singing Emo" and "Summer Camp Love" showcase MC Lars range and ability to not only put any and all artists and fans in their place using samples of different styles of music to simply put, call it as he sees it,but also taking the time to remind his listeners of simpler times like your first camp love. His Hip hop underground style and quick flow is is at the forefront of "Greatest Hits" but like his art, it does not stop there, "Hey there Ophelia" "This Gigantic Robot Kills" and the wildly popular "Hot topic Is Not Punk Rock" touch on his rock and roll, punk and surprising ska influences in which help deliver a unique and well rounded album. Featuring countless cameos and guest spots which include everyone from fellow hip hop elite MC Chris to the ska driven upbeat sounds of Mc Bat Commander (The Aquabats!) and Suburban Legends too the accordion icon in Weird Al Yankovic. MC Lars "Greatest Hits" is a must have for any fan of the artist or for the casual listener.
