Joey Briggs – Politics, Touring, and Self-Loathing
March 13, 2011
The Briggs front man summed this record up with the tile. It really is about his personal experience/opinions about politics, touring, and self-loathing. He sings about the good and bad and the things you have to go though as a band, and the difficulty making it in the music industry. Joey Briggs makes it clear on the song “Classify”, how much he hates labels, whether it is politically or musically. This 4 song e.p. sounds just like The Briggs, but acoustic, personal, and more powerful, lyrically and musically. The songs are very catchy and energetic. If you’re in a band or have ever toured, this is something you need to listen to. It can be reassuring to those in bands and also those who don’t have a positive view of politics. This record is a great start to Joey Briggs solo career, taking him to the next level aside from The Briggs.
