JFA – To All Our Friends

JFA are the kings of Skate Rock and top of that a killer live band. After I moved to Southern California I was absolutely stoked to find out that they play here all of the time. Since I grew up on the East Coast I had never gotten a chance to see them before. At this point I have seen them literally dozens of times and I can say with some authority that "To All Our Friends" fully captures the JFA live experience. It almost makes me sweaty to listen to this C.D., imagining running in circles and singing along with a hundred friends.

The recordings were taken from two shows in Orange County - one at Fitzgerald's in Huntington Beach and one at the Galaxy in Santa Ana.  Included are fourteen songs, most of them being old favorites like "Beach Blanket Bongout," "Preppy," "Out of School," "We Know You Suck," "Jody Foster's Army," "Cokes and Snickers," and the Charlie Brown theme song. We all know that everything about J.F.A. is fun and this C.D. helps to make the fun of seeing them just a little more portable. Word has it that they are in the process of making a record of all new material and I can't wait to see what it sounds like.
