Concrete Facelift- Loud, Fast, Raw

January 6, 2008

Concrete Facelift AlbumIn the tradition of CFL's previous releases they continue to play (as the name implies) loud, fast, and raw skatecore. There is nothing earth shattering or overwhelmingly innovative to their sound, but they do succeed in making listener's blood pump faster on tunes like "Cellar Dweller," and "Wasted Again." For the most part the songs deal with typical  "skate fast 'til you puke gnar gnar" type topics, but they do occasionally break through the mold with a song like "Human Waste" which deals with abusive authority and the mindless nature of society. "Gator" sticks out as the tale of Mark "Gator" Ragowski, the 80's skate legend who was later jailed for murdering a woman and hiding her body in the dessert. Creepy.
