Bring Me The Horizon – Suicide Season CD Review

March 8, 2009

Bring Me The Horizon Suicide Season CD ReviewWhat separates Death Metal from Metalcore is usually lyrical content, style of vocals, and even the look of the band. Death Metal typically has a following composed of metalheads, therefore the lyrical content of Death Metal maintains gory and sometimes blasphemous lyrics and song themes. Metalcore on the other hand, takes a more "Emo" approach to the content of the songs, and while both genres feature the same double-pedal, intricate fast paced guitar and bass mechanisms, there is a rather noticeable separation between the two. Bring Me The Horizon has meshed both genres in their album released on Epitaph, "Suicide Season", and though you may be skeptical about the fusion of both genres, "Suicide Season" is an album that pulls it off well and gets your blood going!

"Suicide Season" is the type of album that you listen to when you're pissed, pumped, or in the mood for something loud and brutal. It is probably a CD you shouldn't play to put your younger siblings to sleep, or showcase to your family the next time they all get together. Still, maybe it's not an album right for people into conventional music, but if you're into crazy music that puts together non-stop mayhem, Bring Me The Horizon has provided the anthems to your most aggressive moments and moods. If that weren't enough to satisfy, the CD also comes with the band's music videos, freebies are always a plus.

Bring Me The Horizon mixes two genres and two separate crowds to bring one well put together album, and one great fusion of music. This album is not for weak ears, and if you can tolerate non-stop passive aggression, the album is perfect for your needs. "Suicide Season" is a great album that may produce the "gateway effect" and possibly cause you to seek out more bands like Bring Me The Horizon, thus expanding your music knowledge and record collection.
