Autistic Youth/Cola Freaks split 7″

Since there is no lyric sheet or any other real information with this record what I have figured out through a little research is that Autistic Youth are from Portland, Oregon and Cola Freaks hang out in Denmark. The Autistic Youth side features two solid and tuneful songs that have a bit of a Fullerton vibe (Adolescents, Agent Orange, early Social Distortion) as well as some 7 Seconds sensibilities. As one might guess this means that there are a good amount of ooh's and ah's and respectable vocal harmonies. Aside from the bands mentioned people who are into The Vicious/Regulations/Gorilla Angreb vibe probably would find Autistic Youth pretty pleasing to the ears.

Cola Freaks have more of an almost hyper bubblegum feel, not entirely unlike very early Damned or Plastic Bertrand. The drumming and Rock N Roll guitars really drive this band and Cola Freaks make for a pretty good match with Autistic Youth. I believe that members of Cola Freaks played with Jay Retard which gives a pretty good idea of the caliber of these guys.
