Northeast Records signs Punk Is Dead

May 26, 2010

The world’s only Punk rock band that exclusively plays Grateful Dead covers, Punk Is Dead, has signed to Northeast Records. After playing a series of sold out shows in LA and generating a huge buzz, the genre-bending Los Angeles-based quartet will be entering the studio in June to record their debut album. The yet-to-be-titled full-length is set for a Sept/Oct 2010 release.

Singer & guitarist Jeff Abarta had this to say: “Mike and Garry are close friends of ours, and we are proud to be a part of the Northeast Records family. The opportunity to make a record for our friends makes perfect sense for us. We are joining a stable of very cool Punk bands that do one thing that we appreciate: keep it real…even if what they do has never been done before (that would be us).”
