The Dollyrots – IDFI – Dymentya – One Loud Secret – Bee Movie The Band – at The Bunkhouse – Las Vegas, NV

December 12, 2009

The DollyrotsIt was a cold rainy night in Las Vegas, But it was anything but cold inside The Bunkhouse, and it was going to get even hotter!! The lineup for the evening was just fantastic!

First up was local band "IDFI" With Chad on guitar and lead vocals these guys ripped through a Heavy Metal set of about 40 minutes or so, shredding out song after song. They could have played longer if it was up to me, these guys are tight. Also on guitar was J.J. who played like a mad man, Bill on bass was no exception either he smoked his bass like there was no tomorrow. And keeping the beat behind the front line was Jorge on drums. What a great way to start the evening off.

Up next was another local Las Vegas band "DYMENTYA" At first glance I thought these guys were a typical DEATH METAL band.  But boy was I surprised when they started belting out their tunes. With Chris and Jason on Guitars, Playing killer Heavy Metal Riffs, just outstanding, Damian was totally sick on his bass playing !! and Leroy on drums an incredible  group of musicians, Then what really blew me away was Ben on vocals, who if you were to ask anybody has the voice of Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden !!!  This guy hit the high notes you would almost think you were listening to Maiden if you closed your eyes.

The night was just beginning with these first 2 bands heating up The Bunkhouse  with their Heavy Metal Thunder.

The 3rd band was another local Las Vegas band, Not to get sidetracked but Las Vegas has an incredible music scene, so many great bands to see and listen too. And it is my pleasure to bring them to you.

"ONE LOUD SECRET" hit the stage. at first glance i knew they weren't going to be like the first 2 bands I had just watched. Jeremy was on guitar, Andy on bass, Dave on drums, and last but not Least is LEILANI on vocals. She is a tiny little "PIXIE"  but with a voice that is anything but little. She can sing like no other!!!! And her on stage personality is just to cool. They played some of the coolest Hard Rock N Roll  tunes a far cry from the first 2 bands. But never the less they were just as good. My favorite song of theirs had to be a cover of Cyndi Laupers  "GIRLS JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN" Like their namesake One Loud Secret they are definitely a secret in Vegas.  AND I AM LETTING THE SECRET OUT!!!!  I am definitely going to see them again, They tore the Antlers off the wall inside The Bunkhouse!! I even think Hoss and Little Joe and the whole Cartwright family woke up to listen to this band. Check them out on myspace you won't be disappointing.

By this time it was going on 1:00 a.m. and there was one more band to go before The Dollyrots were to hit the stage.
The 4th band up was you guessed it another Las Vegas Band. Their name is "BEE MOVIE THE BAND"
This 5 piece ensemble roared through their 30 minute set of tunes like maniacs. Another Rock N Roll band that just totally set up the evening for me In high anticipation of Blackheart recording artists The Dollyrots. In between  One Loud Secret and Bee Movie The Band  there was a birthday cake for Helen for it was her birthday. What a killer birthday party it was. I'm not exactly sure who Helen is, but she had a Bad A$$ birthday party. I should be so lucky.
The Dollyrots
So buy now it's about 1:45 a.m.  And about to Attack the stage all the way from Los Angeles is "THE DOLLYROTS" And let me tell you it was well worth the wait to see this trio perform. With Kelly on bass and vocals, Luis on Guitar and vocals, and Chris beating away on his drums they just totally blew me away.

Like I said earlier it was rainy and cold outside  but by the time The Dollyrots got up on stage they totally Heated up The Bunkhouse with their hard ROCK N ROLL sound. Playing such favorites as "Because I'm Awesome"  "My Best Friends Hot" a SMOKING cover version of Joan Jetts Bad Reputation.

I have to say my favorite song of the night was a cover version of "BRAND NEW KEY" I can't wait to see them again, If you get the opportunity I highly recommend you going to see this Trio form Los Angeles.  High energy "ROCK AND ROLL"  I can't say enough about them.
They should re-name their song Because I'm Awesome  to "BECAUSE WE ARE AWESOME"
The Night started off fast and furious and ended the exact same way. Like the old saying "SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST"
