The Cobra Skulls have finally announced a release date for their Fat Wreck Chords debut. The album, titled "Bringing the War Home" will be released January 18. Cobra Skulls' previous album, "American Rubicon" was voted one of Bigwheel Staff's top 9 albums of 2009. The band will be touring with NOFX in Jamuary to support the album, and are currently on the road with Dead to Me. In more Boston news, Might Mighty Bosstones have announced details for their annual Hometown Throwdown shows at the House of Blues in Boston, including support by the F.U.s and DYS.

Roger Miret and the Disasters are rumoured to be releasing a new album this coming January on Hellcat Records. The album will be titled "Gotta Get Up Now" and the band are streaming the track "We're Gonna Find A Way" now on their MySpace page here: http://www.myspace.com/disasters

In a news of the weird twist, Glassjaw are releasing their new 7" through... Mario's Pizzeria in Seaford New York. Tommy and the Terrors have announced plans to release everything ever recorded on one mega CD. They're also sending out the call for any old video, pictures, or flyers... and it's not just an act of charity, if you cough up, they'll give you a free copy of the CD. Agnostic Front are in studio again, this time in Tampa, FL recording their third release for Nuclear Blast records. No word on when the album is expected to be released.

In other upcoming recording news, Flogging Molly is said to be heading into the studio at the end of this year, Scottish Oi punks Control are set to enter the studio yet again this coming January, and East Coast Hardcore group Converge have confirmed that they are writing a new album.

Revelation Records are releasing a "Past and Present" compilation, featuring current artists covering hits from the label's back catalog, including Sick of it All covering Warzone, Death By Stereo covering Youth of Today, and Ignite the Will covering Shai Hulud. And finally, if we are slow in reporting it, it is only because we've been at a loss as to what to say. Ari Up, legendary front woman of The Slits passed away October 20th. Ari Up started her musical career at just 14, and was touring with the Clash before she hit 20. Her energy and passion have been a bright beacon in the Punk and reggae scenes throughout the years, and she was an inspiration to many more than she'll ever know. She will be sadly missed.
