Broken Needle – Self titled release

Fast hardcore punk with some catchy hooks and the occassional tasteful mosh break thrown in. I wish that these guys would play more often but until they stop being a "side project" I don't think that anyone forsees this happening. Nonetheless Broken Needle are a force to be reckoned with and songs like "Cash In" and "My Rules" are sure to inspire some boot/slip on stomping. Lyrically positive, and musically abusive, Broken Needle are a hardcore band that will make record nerds cream themselves.

Tipper’s Gore – Self titled release

I would be lying if I said that I didn't miss the catchy singalongs that I came to expect from Tipper's Gore based on their demo and E.P. However the sheer anger in the vocals and the delivery from the rest of the band more than compensates for the lack of hooks. Tipper's Gore are creating quite a name for themselves and any attention that they receive is fully warranted as they are one of the hardest working bands in Southern California and musically they manage to stick out from some of their more generic counterparts. Out on Flat Black Records
