Bad Antics, Killer Dreamer, Autistic Youth and Defect Defect at The Dudes House – Fullerton, CA

House party in Fullerton? We’re there! A sound proofed garage, some bands and a bunch of people and you have a killer show happening…albeit on a week night. The first two bands that played were touring bands from Oregon. The first of the two, Defect Defect, was a kick ass four piece. Colin the bands vocalist has a cool on stage persona, garage crowd surfing and having fun with the people who are up front.  Love the faces and the hand gestures too! The next band, Autistic Youth, was another solid band. I was able to pick up both of these bands records, so reviews should be coming soon!

The Bummer: 1 Bathroom

After talking to what seemed like a lifelong friend in the line for the bathroom it was already time for Killer Dreamer. This San Pedro, Ca based band is a really cool punk band with some metal influence. It’s heavy, but refreshing…sorta like canned peaches in heavy syrup.

Most of the party took place in the back yard of this small Fullerton home, so everything looked pretty inconspicuous from the street. Every so often these guys will throw a shindig like this, so they seemed to know the drill of keeping the commotion in the back, away from the street.

The last band to play was the Bad Antics. We’ve been with these guys for a rally long time, and its been really cool to see them progress musically and refine their style. I remember seeing them for the first time at the Alley in Fullerton back in 2005. These guys are releasing an album this December, so be on the look out for this killer album out on Flat Black Records!
