Anti Nowhere League – Two nights in the UK
February 14, 2010
At The Citrus Club – Edinburgh, UK – February 13, 2010.
This was quite a weird night as there was no support band so the crowd was just waiting for the band to come on, which they eventually did. Animal came on stage an announced “We are the League” and the show had begun. To my surprise only a handful of fans came down to the front so I was able to stand at the front and take photos without any worry for my camera.

When “Woman” was finally sung a few more came to the front and I stood at the side of the stage, but most of the crowd were still standing at the back of the room. There was even enough room for Johnny to take his guitar and run in to the crowd and back on stage at the other side!

The guys put on a good show but must have been disappointed as a band gets energy of the crowd. Also without a support band, the crowd had not been warmed up either.

At Ivory Blacks – Glasgow, Scotland – February 14, 2010
In contrast to the previous night show there were a couple of support bands and they had the crowd warmed up nicely. The intro music came on and Nato, Johnny and Shady came on stage awaiting the arrival of Animal, who seemed not to be coming. Deliberate or not, it got the crowd going, and when he announced “We are the League” the crowd were already jumping about.

“We Will Survive”, “I Hate People” and “Snowman” are over in a flash, before we hear new track “Skull and Bones” which goes down well and I think is a great song. “Break the Law” had the first of the stage invasions – a couple of fans get on stage and dance around Animal.

Eventually as it is valentines day we get a love song – “Woman”! A girl fan makes her way on stage and is serenaded while she clings to Animal. A few more fans make it on stage throughout the evening. Nato is immense on the drums, Johnny was playing his guitar walking all over the stage and on top of the monitors. Shady plays his bass superbly and Animal is like a man possessed, all four guys put on the best League show I’ve seen. They have put their all in to it and unlike the previous evening have fed off the energy of the crowd.

They finish the night as they started with “We are the League”
