Killing Time – Three Steps Back

April 1, 2010

Killing Time record reviewNY Hardcore is a movement that while embodies everything Punk Rock, and is a derivative of Punk Rock, is an entity all its own. Killing Time is a band that has been a part of the prestigious NYHC scene since 1988, and with the band’s latest release of "Three Steps Back", Hardcore music sustains its right to rule over other genres. "Three Steps Back", which is released through Dead City Records, is a powerfully captivating and invigorating album that will exert the band’s presence straight outta your speakers, and bring the New York Hardcore scene straight into the comfort of your own home.

Killing Time’s "Three Steps Back" is a fierce manifestation of the loudest and most aggressive forces you can attempt to even imagine. With fast paced beats, cacophonous vocals, and intricate guitar and bass lines, "Three Steps Back" is guaranteed to increase the rate of your pulse and get you pumped up for anything and everything. Without a doubt, one of the most enthralling songs in the album is the opening song, "Flight Plan", which paves the way for the rest of the album’s content by commencing its music with utmost intensity. "Three Steps Back" is an album that deserves hype and recognition for providing our music scene great music that has quickly become scarce.

If you’re a fan of NY Hardcore and have never listened to Killing Time, it’s never too late to redeem yourself. If you’ve never taken an interest in NY Hardcore or have simply overlooked the music, Killing Time will be your gateway band that will ultimately refine your musical taste. "Three Steps Back" is an experience that cannot be missed, and is a potent album that will reassure you that contrary to the band’s name, "killing time" is NOT an issue or an option when listening to this band’s music.
