GBH – Perfume and Piss

April 6, 2010

GBH Perfume and Piss record reviewGBH are considered by many as one of the premier bands to come out of England back in the 80’s. Their early albums like Leather, Bristles, Studs And Acne and follow up records, City Baby Attacked By Rats and City Baby's Revenge are staples in any GBH fans collection. Well the band’s current album titled Perfume and Piss that was just released on HellCat Records becomes that newest update to their trilogy.

Like all of their albums, they all carry their own identity while maintaining the foundation that is what defines the GBH sound. The same little whines of the guitar that thrust back and fourth that are supported by a well established rhythm section are solid throughout this latest offering that gives the seasoned GBH student a continuation of the sound that they love so much. Colin’s vocals remain just as fiery and timeless as always which just further reinforces why this band is so well revered as a favorite among the loyal following as well as the new kids that are getting into their stuff.

To pick the stand out tracks on this record may be difficult since they each have characteristics that are as comfortable as a well worn studded belt. Perhaps that is the charm of this record, it is just a good fit with all their recordings that most GBH fans are already playing over and over again. Look at it this way, this will just give you 13 more songs to listen to before you replay all the other records again.

This 13 track gem is out now on HellCat Records, get one today at your wiser record outlets
