Punk Rock Bowling 2012 Playoff Photos and First round bowling – Sam’s Town – Las Vegas, NV

For many new people coming into the awareness of how bitchen of a time the Punk Rock Bowling weekend is, many are there to come take in the music festival that year in and year out features a line up of the best bands that never disappoint. Even though most media outlets overlook the origin of the weekend, it did all start 14 years ago with an idea to go to Vegas, have a good time and bowl with the greater Punk Rock family that spans the world that come to Vegas every year. This year the teams that bowled were doubled to accommodate more teams since the waiting list to play can last many years. With mainstay bowling facility at Sam's Town providing an anchor, the expanded teams on Saturday battled it out at the Gold Coast bowling alley that in years past was where the tournament took place.

Teams that made it to the Sunday playoff would all assemble at 11am for the playoff rounds to determine who would be ruled the 2012 Punk Rock Bowling Champion. One aspect of the bowling is the camaraderie that can be seen is where a team that got beat by an opposing team would then cheer on the team that beat them as they progressed through the playoffs. Whether people bowled or not, there was huge crowd that came to hang out, cheer the teams on, meet up with friends and tip quite a few drinks. Punk Rock Bowling is much more than just a tournament, it is a yearly celebration of the Punk rock family and the friendships that surround the music we all love.
