If you were part of the lucky 1000’s that were actually at Rebellion Fest 2009 in Blackpool, England you are probably still recovering from the 4 days of fun. There is no reason to wait to see coverage of this in a printed magazine as a blip, Big Wheel once again brings the rest of the world that was not there a look at the entire event with loads of photos and stories from 3 of our staff that were there to document it all.

Once again the venue for Rebellion was the Winter Gardens in Blackpool. Built in 1878, the historical Winter Gardens has several venues under one roof. The main stage is the Empress Ballroom which is a magnificent ballroom complete with many chandeliers hanging from the roof. This can hold up to 2000 people at a standing concert. Read more

First on the agenda for the day was 3cr on the Arena Stage. One of Punks most offensive bands with songs like “Club me like a Seal” and MILF (Mum I’d like to F**k). 1st band of the day was A-Heads from Wessex. They’re an 80’s anarcho band who recently reformed and I caught them on the first night of last year’s festival. I’d enjoyed them a lot then and was keen to see how they’d progressed in the intervening year. Well, the regular gigging seems to have paid off because they were like a different band. Compact and confident with singer Mel owning the stage, they just seemed to have a heap more conviction about them this time. Read more

So to the last day……and it’s the usual early morning with the sun streaming in the window. I feel like shite so roll over and try to get back to sleep.
