Flogging Molly at The Hollywood Palladium after the renovations
October 25, 2008
The renovations at The Hollywood Palladium are now complete and this would be our first look inside. Lots of famed shows have went down inside this place from Frank Sinatra to The Ramones.
The line up for our maiden voyage was Flogging Molly, Anti-Flag, The Briggs and Jackson United. We got there just as Jackson United was on and since we had never been here before we found ourselves bumbling around to see exactly where to go and of course where the bars are. If you go to Jackson United’s MySpace and check out their music you will quickly hear that they are a great band and that we so blew it by not getting there earlier, but the parking around the place can be a challenge and vary in price.

Once we get a drink in hand and then were told what the amount was, our jaw dropped, just make sure your bring a co-signer if you plan to party inside. The floor was really huge and the kids inside did wait for an invitation to use it and all night long the pit was in full swing counter clockwise. Now that we had a proper place to chill and see the action, The Briggs were now taking the stage. OK, we are biased, The Briggs shredd, however anyone that sees them play live will come the exact same belief. Of course they played all the songs that Briggs fans love that also included anthems, "Back To Higher Ground" and "Song For Us". They ended their set with a song that is really getting played alot and was recently picked up by the Los Angeles Kings hockey called "This is LA". At this point in the show, the stage is full of people singing along to a song that is quickly becoming the new anthem for Los Angeles. What a kick ass song this is …. just go to their MySpace and listen for yourself, it RULES!

Next up was Anti Flag and then followed by the always epic Flogging Molly. Well, here is some video below that will give you the visual and then you can write your own review of what happened. Anti-Flag did their own version of "I Fought the Law", except in Anti-Flag’s version goes, "I Fought the Law and I Won". Anti-Flag is about as consistent of a performance as it gets and fans are never left disappointed. Closing out our night at the newly renovated Palladium, which is literally a stones throw from the old Cathe De Grande was Flogging Molly. You can watch the video for yourself, it does not lie. The long and short of Flogging Mollys’ performance, Awesome Awesome Awesome Awesome Awesome Awesome. Truly one of the best live bands around and always a good time.
Shout out goes to the Sibinator for always taking care of his boys, you rule!
