Riot Fest West Postponed until Spring 2010
(Chicago, IL) Riot Fest West will be postponed from mid-November 2009 to Spring 2010 due to health issues challenging the founder, Riot Mike. His statement is below:

Firstly, I want to apologize to the people who were excited for Riot Fest to come to Los Angeles – it was always a dream of mine that one day Riot Fest would be able to take place in another part of the U.S. But, sometimes those types of dreams need to be put on hold.

A few weeks ago, I found out that my health was failing, and I was advised by doctors to take a few months off for treatment. It was somber news to say the least, but my immediate reaction was how this would inherently affect Riot Fest. After speaking with family and close friends about the situation and mulling it over for a few days, I decided that if I couldn’t give it my all because of health related issues, then, I should postpone Riot Fest West until I’m cleared by doctors, which should hopefully be in Spring 2010. Punk albums, Rockin’ At Ground Zero, is back with much more! Re-mastered, unreleased bonus tracks, etc on vinyl & two CD versions. Along with this series of unearthed material will be the reissue of Axxel G. Reese’s (Vocalist of the GEARS) band The D.I.s. The band’s ever revolving door also featured members of TSOL, the ROCKATS, the JONESES, LEVI DEXTER & the RIPCHORDS, the RED DEVILS, the KNITTERS and RAY CAMPI’S ROCKABILLY REBELS. After 14 years, we finally made up! Hugs and kisses for everyone – The band is reunited.

 
The last time WAX was all in the same room was at Slims in San Francisco in 1995. Damn that was a long time ago!!! Over the years we always talked about playing together again, and finally in April we decided to make it happen. Dave had a smile on his face about four miles long from the moment we all started playing. After three hours playing together, we all had smiles to match Dave’s.
