Pancake Breakfast at Fire Station 71 of the Los Angeles Fire Department – Los Angeles, CA

June 13, 2010

Station 71 Fire DepartmentSomething that is always cool to do is to go give props to the fire department -the people who keep our cities safe and are there in our time of need. On Sunday morning fire station 71 that is a up on Sunset and Beverly Glen hosted a pancake breakfast fund raiser to help cover the expense to renovate their kitchen. With food and a good cause some of our crew that we could roust up after a night of partying on Hollywood Blvd we were off.

Throwing in for a breakfast served by heroes was not a problem and then we see that there was a raffle that could be entered to have dinner at the fire station, so at that point some tweentys started to get pulled out of everyone’s pockets for some tickets. Even if we didn’t win the funds would go to help fix up their kitchen.
UPDATE: After a tally of all the cash and checks from the pancake breakfast, they raised $12, 500 which
was a great success for this station's first ever pancake breakfast.

After everyone powered a 5 stack of pancakes and some sausage it was time to make our way around the fire station and see what was happening. Kids were everywhere putting on the fire gear, playing on the radios and jumping in and out of the fire vehicles. Perhaps the funniest thing we say was one of the sightseeing tour bus’ stop and two middle aged women jumped off the bus to take some photos with the fire fighters.

We all may take for granted the many things the fire department does in our respective communities all around the world, but one thing would suck for sure, when the crap hits the fan we all are very glad when those red fire trucks show up.
Our hats off to the men and women of the fire department –Thank You

Was that really the ambulance that took Michael Jackson to the hospital on that fateful day?
